Forbidden Hearts
By Lisa Kessler

Excerpt:

Scott carefully slid the dagger into his belt and took her hand. There’s no way he would ever forget her. He memorized every curve of her face. “I’ll find you.”

Her lips curved into a hint of a sad smile. “I hope so. The ceremony will take place next week.”

His pulse jumped. “But time moves differently on your side of the veil, right? How much time will I have?”

She didn’t want to think about it. “Maybe a month in the human world.”

Fuck. If he didn’t remember the blade, she could be sacrificed. The stakes were too high. He pulled out his cell phone and quickly typed in a note.

Cross the veil. Save Kathryn.

She got up, walking toward the balcony where her frozen guard still stood at the ready to launch an arrow. Scott followed, his heart pounding in his ears. He caught her arm, and she turned to look up at him, her lips parted slightly. His voice softened to a hoarse whisper. “You stay alive for me.”

She nodded, a ripple of color washed through her blue eyes. Everything about her was magic. Before he could stop himself, he bent to brush his lips to hers. He brought his hand up to cup her cheek, and she tilted her chin up, returning the kiss with so much tenderness, he was weak and strong all at the same time.

She smiled up at him and whispered, “Tromhad múirn laoch... Come back to me, my warrior.”

“I will.” He rested his forehead on hers, reveling in the realization that she made him forget he was an auto mechanic, like a warrior might be his true self. “That won’t be our last kiss.”

Without another word, she turned away and ran to the railing of the balcony. Keeping her eyes locked on his, she snapped her fingers. Sound washed over them, intruding on the silence as time resumed. The guard marched toward them.

“Kathryn, wait!” Scott called, but it was too late.

She sprang forward, slapped the guard, and then leapt off the railing. Scott rushed to look over the side, but she hadn’t fallen. Kathryn soared over the bay. How did no one else see? Was it glamour? Who knew?

She blew him a kiss before diving into the water. The moment she broke through the glass of the bay’s surface, a shockwave of magic knocked him back onto the floor.

He blinked, clearing his vision as he looked around. His head throbbed, fuzzy and out of focus. Wasn’t he with someone? He got up, puzzled. How did he get out on the balcony? He rubbed his temples, struggling to piece together the missing time.
He ran out here. They were in trouble. Weren’t they?

They.

Scott stood up and glanced out at the water. He was forgetting something. Someone. Maybe he hit his head when he fell. Scott sighed and reached for the door back into the exhibit hall, when his hand brushed over something on his belt. He frowned and withdrew a tiny dagger.

The stones shimmered with his touch. Images crept back into his mind. A woman with blue and violet hair.

Scott smiled. Kathryn. He remembered. The magic and her fathomless blue eyes. Tucking the dagger back into his belt, he turned back toward the bay. “I’ll find a way through the veil, Princess. I will...”

And with that, he disappeared back into the throngs of people.

The Lost Boys Bar and Grill
By C.C. Dowling

With the help of exiled Lost Boys assassins, can a desperate Fae princess and an ex-Army soldier save Faerie from a horde of Elven invaders, and their own hearts from a fate worse than death? Find out in The Lost Boys Bar & Grill by CC Dowling!

Excerpt:

After arriving on Earth, the Fae princess is attacked by a creature sent by her enemies. Being the hero he was born to be, Deryk steps in to help, and lays eyes on a goddess he isn't even sure is real.

Wearing nothing more than a gossamer shift, not even covering her bare essentials, is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid my weary, jaded, definitely single-too-long eyes on. Figures, after the shit text I just got, and the reminder why I’d sworn off women, someone like her would fall into my life. No, not fall. Fight.

Drops of blood from my wound drip onto the ground as beams of moonlight, and the dull rays from the scattered garden lights, shimmer off her skin. The deep, rich tone reminds me of the black calla lilies my grandmother used to grow outside her window. She’d always said getting them to grow in New York’s climate required a lot of love. I wonder if that same love is what made this woman into the nymph before me.

Pull yourself together, Deryk, my inner voice warns. The hotter they are, the more likely they’ll run, and the more it’s bound to hurt when they do. Another lesson thanks to Mariana, and screw this. I might know better, but I can’t help but drink in the stranger’s body with my eyes like a shot of whiskey after a year of sobriety.

The creamy smoothness of her thighs and arms, and the swell of her breasts, is unblemished perfection. It’s clear she’s never had to spend one day in the harsh reality of New York winters. Her hair looks as if strands of moonlight settled on her head and curled in on itself to get closer to her body. I want to get closer, too.

Dammit. When did I become such a sappy, romantic poet? Moonlight hair. Calla lily skin. It’s a good thing the boys from the bar can’t see inside my head right now. They’d never let me live this down.

The Enchanted One
By Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Can a young woman from California face a new kind of mystery that could change the world as she knew it after inheriting an Irish cottage from a grandmother she never knew?

Will Teryn Clark’s arrival kick off a deadly contest over which kind of Fae will claim her - Dark Fae, or the Lords of Light? And actually, can that handsome neighbor really be a Dragon?

Excerpt:

Aedan’s neighbors had otherworldy features. That was the only way to describe the beauty each one of them possessed. They had thin faces and smooth, pale skin. More silver wrapped around their foreheads in twisted bands that winked in the light like jeweled diadems.
All three of these Fae turned to go. But they had the last say in letting Teryn know things were still stranger than she knew, without them uttering a word.
Raising their arms, they drew the wind from where it had been waiting. As that wind reached where they stood, their gleaming bodies began to stretch and grow. Long tails appeared. Wings with a span of twenty feet or more unfolded as these Lords of Light left the term impossible behind and rose moonward together as a trio of rare great white dragons.

Night Bloomers
By Jillian Stone

Dark doings and mysterious goings-on around
Paradox Lake.
As a sworn protector of the fae, Elsbeth Moonflower returns to home to Paradox Lake, only to cross paths with her once upon a time high school crush and nemesis, hotter than hot, Owen Brady, Essex County Deputy Sheriff, who’s determined to get to the bottom of some murderous local mischief.

Owen bravely steps into Elsbeth’s mysterious fae world, only this time around will he risk his heart?

Excerpt:

Owen climbed into the driver’s side and immediately wanted to haul her into his arms, taste those soft pliable lips, run his hand under that little sweater with all those cute buttons…
   “Nice truck.”
He nodded. “Bought it a few months ago—last years model.” Nothing but moonlight lit the interior. “So where am I taking you, Elsbeth?”
She stared at him. “Where would you like to take me?”
His eyes narrowed. He knew what he would have done with most women. “I understand you live near an ancient woodland on the north shore. Strange lights have been reported around the lake these past few nights. Maybe you could give me a tour? Show me where the faeries hang out.” He grinned. “I seem to have captured a Moonflower. I figure I’d better take advantage.”
She stared at him wide-eyed. “Who have you been talking to?”
“Nate Goodson, Francis MacLeod, both of them mentioned you. Also, there’s an old trapper named Beckworth Adams who lives on the south side of the gulch—know him?”
“Am I being questioned about the Henry Hazlitt thing?”
“No rush, doesn’t have to be tonight.”
“I can only imagine the kind of crazy faerie stories you’ve been told, especially by Francis.” She stared at him for the longest time. And she chewed her lip which was so damn distracting he had to look away. “Nate Goodson probably complained about me being against the waterpark—the petition and all.”
   Owen nodded.
 “So am I a suspect?”

Night Bloomers is chock full of interesting fae creatures, including
walking trees (spriggans) and seductive water nymphs (naiads).

He chuckled softly. “A fatal car accident as strange as this one is always considered suspicious. Prominent citizen loses control of his 450 SL but still manages to drive it through a hundred and twenty-five feet of dense forest—doesn’t even clip a tree before he sails off a cliff.” He shook his head. “Doesn’t add up. Hell, it might never add up.”
  “And you’re thinking…what?”
  “Something happened out there, Elsbeth.”
Moonlight edged the shallow rapids of the La Chute River. They both peered out the windshield at the fast-moving water.
“I suppose you could drive me home. Along the way, I could show you a few faerie hot spots.” She turned away from the river. “No guarantee you’ll see anything. The fae are leery of coppers.”

“What about you, Elsbeth Moonflower, are you leery of coppers?”
“Depends on the copper—I try to keep an open mind.”
“So there’s a chance for me.”
“Maybe.” She wagged her head a bit. “Maybe there’s more than a chance.”
He turned the key and the engine rumbled to life. “Seatbelt.” She pulled the strap around and he helped her buckle up.
“When did you get so cute and sweet, Owen?”
He gazed into large liquid-blue eyes. “Cute and sweet? Not—too hot to handle?”
She stared at him. “Better than arrogant asshole.”

The Hidden War
By Marie Andreas

Another arrow shot toward them, but missed both. “Stand down and your deaths will be merciful.” The voice was heavily accented, sounding more like a running brook than actual words. But the meaning came through. A second arrow, closer this time as she tried to move back the way they’d come, clarified any confusion.

Eladrea knew the next arrow would be through her or Lachie.

She removed her hand from the hilt of her sword, raised her hands in the air, and motioned for Lachie to do the same. The smaller woman didn’t look like she was going to agree at first, she was looking around the trees trying to gauge a way out. Finally, she raised both her hands as well.

Silence filled the area. No animals, no birds. Just the trees rustling gently.

Finally shapes came through the trees. Two males and two females. Taller than even Sadlin, they were thin and graceful. And beautiful. There was no doubt they were Fae. Long hair was pulled up in elaborate knots exposing their delicately tapered ears. Three had the same silvery hair that had been on the one murdered by the villagers and carried bows nocked with arrows. The leader’s hair was ebony and, even in knots, flowed down to his knees. He had an elaborate bow across his back but walked forward empty-handed.

“We would rather not hurt you, actually. A scouting party of ours came through here and two of our kind were murdered. We are seeking answers and justice, nothing more.” His voice had grown softer now, the type of voice who wanted nothing more than to keep you from harm. “If you had nothing to do with their deaths, we will leave you with naught but a memory.”

Eladrea found herself transfixed by his mouth. It was perfect. The words coming out of it were perfect. He was perfect. Of course, the Fae hadn’t drained their land of magic and fled. The destruction to those villages wasn’t them at all.

“We sent envoys to try to reestablish contact with our human companions, but all were thrown back. This time, two were killed. The first was beheaded. The second was stabbed with a single blade. A perfect fatal strike.” He held his hands out in supplication. “All we want is to help your people once again, but first we need to find these murderers. Won’t you help us?”

He seemed so rational, so calm, so trusting of her to help him. His eyes were the deepest blue she’d ever seen. Eladrea found herself nodding and getting down off her horse. As she moved, her hand rested on her pack and the dagger spoke to her. It released her from the spell the dark-haired Fae cast.

The world appeared brighter than before, as if the Fae’s words had somehow stolen the colors from the land around her. She took a deep calming breath. Lachie and both of the horses were still spelled, and Conall had either run off or already met the same fate as Meyrick.

It was up to her to stop this.

Inside Urban Wolf: Love Bites From Wolf, Interrupted.

Today the blog is chock full of sinfully sexy love bites compliments of Wolf, Interrupted

Welcome Get Lost in a Story readers and Urban Wolfers!

As most of you know by now, the just released URBAN WOLF anthology includes two sinfully sexy shape-shifter romance novellas between its covers. Wolf in the City by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom and Wolf, Interrupted by Jillian Stone. (Yes, that's  me!)

I'm wrapping up our marathon four day GLIAS blog by sharing some excerpts and a few love bites from Wolf, Interrupted. For those of you who missed my post on Friday, here's how you catch up on the story:

A brief blurb for Wolf, Interrupted

Elle Hathaway has spent most of her young life in fear of herself. At least the part of her that grows fangs and claws. With the help of a lycanthrope suppressant, she’s made it through puberty, university, even her first job without so much as a shift. Then one night, deep in the tunnels of the
Underground, her life changes forever.

Detective Inspector Abelseth Durant is investigating the lethal mauling of an unknown victim in the Covent Garden tube station, and Ms. Elle Hathaway is a person of interest. Sensing her wolf nature, he is mystified by the lovely young woman, and when Elle is abducted by a rival pack, Abelseth realizes he is being pulled back into London’s wolfen underworld.

So—now that Elle has been shaken out of her blissful denial, will she team up with the handsome inspector and evade the renegade pack? Let's find out!

On Friday, we left Abesleth and Elle moondancing on the terrace of a roof garden. Without giving anything away about their sensual, magical dance under the stars, lets just say that things got pretty steamy"

She stepped away and he pulled her back, capturing her mouth under his, parting those pouty lips. His tongue tongue plunged in deep, chasing, teasing, purposely arousing her.
   "Find your wild, Elle."

Consumed by lust, Abesleth barely notices the subtle shift in shadow and light—not until unfamiliar pheromones assault his senses. He leads the predatory wolves in the opposite direction—so Elle can make a quick getaway.  He catches up with her by leaping through the time-space continuum. On his third leap he spies her bright orange Mini Cooper stopped at a traffic light.

    Elle gunned the engine nervously.
A leering, bearded male with fiery eyes materialized in the seat beside her.
“No-oooo!” Abelseth ripped the wolf out of her car and sent him flying into the drift.
He sat beside her and and quieted the snarl in his voice. “Keep to your right and take the Waterloo Bridge. Faster the better—make it hard for them.”
Elle drove like a mad demon, accelerating well beyond the posted limits. “For the record, this new wolfy part of me sucks. Mind telling me where we’re going?"
“My brother is having a dinner party, we’ll be surrounded by my pack.”
“She slid into a parking space on Duchy Street and turned to him. “Inspector Durant, are you inviting me to a party?”
“At the moment, the safest place for you to be, is among wolves.”

Ableseth isn’t your average werewolf. As Elle unwraps some of his closer held secrets, she discovers that he’s not only pure=blooded wolf, like herself, he’s also werewolf royalty.

And his abilities go far beyond the occasional shape-shift. In fact, he possesses powers akin to magic. Not the Harry Potter wingardium leviosa sort of spell—more like the power of Thor, only he wasn’t a superhero. Or was he?

“But…I’m not dressed for a dinner party.” Elle protested.
There were times when his gaze alone captured her. Long lashes shaded his crystalline eyes, which lowered to the v-neckline of her cardigan.
"You’ve left your sweater unbuttoned, enough to reveal an alluring hollow between the curves of your breasts. And when you exhale, a hint of flesh.”
She sucked in a breath. She was neither well endowed nor small breasted, but the glimmer in his eyes told her she was just right.

Something intimate is starting to happen between Abelseth and Elle. They're bickering—with a good deal of eye contact. Quarreling lovers who might have a quick boff in the car before the party.

And later, at the party…

Smooth background jazz segued into smoky saxophone. The kind of music that encourage the rapid removal of clothes, if they were lovers. And alone.

His gaze swept over her features. No man had ever looked at her this way. As if he needed to possess her, ravage her, protect her.
She moved away, and he pulled her back. “What works on you, Elle?”

Abelseth’s uncle fills her in, and Elle begins to understand why she’s been targeted by rogue wolfen packs. And then comes a chapter titled, Abelseth vs. Ex Cereberus.

While Abelseth battles the powerful renegade wolves, Elle finally escapes London, and heads for home. She also finds herself missing Abelseth and is terrified that something terrible has happened to him. She exits the motorway for petrol and as she pulls under the station canopy, her heart skips a beat.

Elle climbed out of the car.
"Where are we?" he croaked, huskily.
She closed the door. “What no GPS in the time-space continuum?" She moved her hands up the lapels of his coat. "You’re looked a bit trampled.”
“I would have caught up sooner, only a I ran into a few wolves along the way.”
“And they ran into you.” She kissed him gently on the mouth.

I’d like to tell you more, I really would. And I know you have questions. Like—does Elle ever trust enough to let Abelseth get close? I mean really close. And what about all that talk about wolf sex?

“So sex as a wolf is completely out of the question,” Elle sighed.
He did a cute double-take. “Not…completely out of the question.”

Urban Wolf: Fang meets fur on the streets of L.A.

“Blood is my bane, wolf, while moonlight is yours. In the end, we’re both monsters, you know.” —Wolf in the City by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Hello again… It’s Urban Wolf week, and I’m loving it.

On Thursday, we met the werewolf I met on the back streets of Angeles, and the star of my story Wolf in the City, in the new Urban Wolf anthology. Jared James is one hot, sexy ex-detective werewolf. Yum.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to the feisty young vampire who gives Jared a run for his money on those L.A. streets.

Not your typical vampire, Kit is a quirky, dangerous female with a vow of vengeance against her Maker that equals Jared’s vow for the same thing. When these two meet up, sparks fly in strange ways. Take a listen . . .

“Might be time for you to go home, wolf,” she suggested. “To me, you smell far too good, and like dessert.”
She waited, as if daring him to turn his back.
“Why would I leave when this was just getting interesting?” Jared returned.
“Because I always was a sucker for dessert,” she said. “FYI.”"
—Chapter 1, Wolf in the City

Wearing black as camouflage, Kit blends with the shadows she detests. Besides searching for the vampire who hurt her, bled her, and tried to steal her soul, she’s game for causing trouble with Jared, the werewolf she’s been keeping an eye on.

Really, this is not a match made in heaven. No way. Nohow. Right? So what will happen when
their objectives merge and they are forced to help each other out?

"He couldn’t have imagined that a vampire could be so sexy and sensual, or that she would have so quickly cast a spell to ensnare him.”
—Chapter 9, Wolf in the City

The big question here is whether there actually are vampires with good intentions? And whether the talents they possess is what attracts other to them?

Well . . . I know the answer to those questions, and so does Jared James, who finds out first-hand what to expect .

"And if she could do that—getting close to him so easily and without his knowledge—then by letting his guard down for one single second meant he had fallen victim to her particular brand of seductive power, after all. Trouble? Hell. The word had just taken on a whole new meaning. In this instance, trouble started a V."

Come along to the dark streets of Los Angeles with me, and meet these two for yourself. I’m positive you’ll be glad you did, and that you might be a little more enlightened about these two species and what they are capable of.

Our Urban Wolf anthology is out this week….
What are you waiting for? Jared?
Sorry folks, Jared might just be taken by the time you read this post.
Then again….. maybe not?
(You’ll have to read this book to see). *smiles wickedly*

Thanks for tuning in today, and all week to hear Jillian and I tell our tales.

Please say hello, leave a wave, and ask any question you might have for either Kit or me.  Though she sleeps during the day (in a bed, not a coffin), she has left me some notes.

Cheers for now,
Linda

Hi GLAIS Readers, Jillian here! I'm thrilled to share a little of the story and characters in WOLF, INTERRUPTED, one of two novellas in the just released Urban Wolf anthology. Yesterday, Linda blogged about the sexy urban wolf who patrols the streets of L.A. in her novella, WOLF IN THE CITY.  Today, you're going to get to know the hero and heroine from WOLF, INTERRUPTED. The novella is set in one of my favorite cities in the world—London, of course!

Meet Elle Hathaway

When Elle Hathaway was still in primary school, she sat beside her dying father as her mother wiped away the purplish foam bubbling at the edges of her husband’s mouth.

A rare and unusual death the coroner had scribbled in the inquest report. His conclusion read: Accidental poisoning. No malicious intent.

Aconitum napellus, prince of death—aka wolfsbane. Lethal to wolves and humans alike, even to the touch.

It's no wonder Elle has spent most of her life in fear of herself. At least the part of her that grows fangs and claws. With the help of a lycanthrope suppressant, she’s made it through puberty, university, even her first job without so much as a shift. Then one night, deep in the tunnels of the Underground, her life changes forever.

Say hello to Detective Inspector Abelseth Durant

Detective Inspector Abelseth Durant is investigating the lethal mauling of an unknown victim in the Covent Garden tube station, and Ms. Elle Hathaway is a person of interest.

The detective sat quietly in front of her consulting his smart phone. She’d forgotten how attractive he was, in an unkempt, masculine way.

He cleared his throat softly. “I thought we might start with your police report. You can confirm, make corrections, elaborate—whatever comes to mind.”  He glanced up and his double take was lovely, as if he must have another look at her. “If you need clarification, feel free to ask me anything.”

Elle immediately thought of two good questions. Have a girlfriend?  Looking for one?

Sensing her wolf nature, Abelseth is mystified by the lovely young woman, and when Elle is abducted by a rival pack, he realizes he is being pulled back into London’s wolfen underworld.

“I don’t date…wolves.” She stepped away tossing unruly waves of hair over her shoulder and revealing more of her pale blue cardigan. The cropped sweater exposed a hint of midriff and hugged the curves of her breasts. He had no trouble remembering how gorgeous she was naked. He’d nearly come undone by her raw beauty.

“I believe you might consider a wolf after a moondance.”

She tilted her head and squinted. “Moondance?”

To be continued Sunday…

Inside Urban Wolf, ready to pounce…there's a Wolf in the City

“One bite, one scratch… and chaos reigns on the streets of L.A.”
Wolf in the City by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

Welcome to the world of URBAN WOLF, my friends, “where strangers become friends and lovers, where secrets beg to be discovered and revealed, and where Happy-Ever-Afters seem impossible but are longed for all the same…”

That’s a quote from a # 1 rated book reviewer that couldn’t have been more accurate (and hopefully enticing). Because I’m hoping you will come along on this wild ride with Jillian Stone and me. And wild ride, it is.

In this 2 author, 2 novella anthology out this week, Jillian and I have chosen to set our stories in different parts of the world. My story, WOLF IN THE CITY, is set in Los Angles, a city I know very well, having been born and raised there.

I was always fairly sure that werewolves roamed the backstreets of L.A. but as a kid, I was afraid to go out and look for them (parents would have nixed that idea real quick). It wasn’t until recently that I met Jared James, one of those werewolves, and he told me his story.

Wow. I couldn’t have conceived of anything as scary or daunting as the true tale of how an L.A detective became a werewolf, and the kind of justice that Jared sought for what happened to him in an L.A. alley.

"The term human had ceased to cover what he had become. Creature was a better choice, and he had the claws to prove it. He was a werewolf –half man, half beast—and had been since hell had come calling on a night like this one.
—Chapter 1, Wolf in the City

I mean, who could have imagined what Jared would find on those streets late at night . . . with a full moon dictating how his future would go down?

Imagine his surprise to find that there are other species roaming those same streets, keeping to the shadows. And that one of them has been watching him for some time! And if that other entity might be a slick vampire named Kit?

“He had been after another kind of monster here, one with canines and claws, and look what had turned up—a female with fangs and a disturbingly cryptic sense of humor.

—Chapter 3, Wolf in the City

Jared James, the tall, dark and gorgeous ex-detective vigilante, had to have his story told . . . so I have told it. I am in love with Jared, and you might be, too. Meet him
in Wolf in the City, my novella in this new Urban Wolf anthology. I can’t wait for you to tell me what you think of Jared. My excitement for this book’s birthday can’t be contained. *Arrrroooooo*

“Two species merging—one with fangs, the other with fur. How could anything good possibly come of that?
Chapter 8, Wolf in the City

And though I have to sign off for now, please stay tuned for more on Jared here and more excerpts from Wolf in the City this Saturday!

Are you reading this post? Please say hello, leave a wave, and ask any question you might have for either Jared or me. The June full moon has passed, so my werewolf is ready to pay attention to whatever you might have to say. *smiles*

Cheers for now,
Linda

Get Lost in Angel Unleashed by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

ANGEL UNLEASHED
Linda Thomas-Sundstrom

A fine line between vengeance and desire…
As an immortal Blood Knight, Rhys de Troyes is familiar with quests. It's obvious that the ethereal beauty who just arrived in London is on one of her own. But Avery Arcadia Quinn seems intent on keeping her secrets, even as Rhys strips away all her defenses.
A grounded angel, Avery seeks to recover the wings stolen from her centuries ago when the Knights were created from her suffering and pain. She swore vengeance, but her burning connection with Rhys threatens to consume her anger, her mission…and even her vow to destroy him.

A Sneak Peek at Angel Unleashed

She had come for tattoos. Those new tats were vivid, red and raw, adding an overlay of color that contrasted greatly with her skin. She’d chosen wings. Dark blue, light blue and gray feathers with blood-red tips spanned from one of her shoulders to the other, expertly filled in. The result was spectacular.

Rhys stared intently at this incredible apparition.

Strands of her white hair—long, straight, shiny—cascaded over one of her shoulders to partially cover the right side of the tattoo. Both shoulders quaked slightly, not from cold, but as if the violence of the needles used to create the wings had affected her. Her emotional turmoil was discernible from where he stood.

Although she was aware of him, the graceful creature on that cot didn’t turn around. Maybe she waited for him to make the first move. Unfortunately, that move didn’t include any of the demands he had planned on using for getting to the root of who she was and what she was up to. What bubbled up from him instead was a show of sympathy.

“Bloody hell,” he whispered hoarsely. “What have you done?”

More on the Blood Knight Brotherhood

Immortals. Angels. London. Deadly quests... Welcome to the world of the Blood Knight Brotherhood, where danger lurks around every corner, and there's always something new in the shadows.

You  might have already met some of my sexy Knights in this stand-alone series of books. If you haven't, here's a brief rundown on the tales.

Made immortal in the time of the Round Table and recruited for a specific quest involving the Holy Grail, seven knights became known as the Blood Knight Brotherhood, or The Seven. One knight per book is how we meet them today, in our century, still pursuing their quest. I guess we could say my Blood Knights are the knights of old, much updated, much sexier . . . and way more dangerous.

In "Golden Vampire," we met Lancelot, going by the name of Lance. In "Guardian of the Night," and "Immortal Obsession" we met two more dark, hunky Blood Knights. In "Immortal Redeemed" we met a gloriously leather-clad Galahad, now calling himself Kellan and riding a Harley instead of a steed.

In "Angel Unleashed," we find Rhys de Troyes, another Blood Knight, in London. This time, however, it might not be a mortal woman who attracts his attention. It just might turn out to be another immortal with a quest of her own.

What could bring downed angel Avery Arcadia Quinn to London, and why is she hiding from the Blood Knights? Where are her wings? Why is the attraction between Avery and Rhys so immediate and overwhelming?

Immortal versus immortal is how this goes down . . . Blood Knight vs Angel. And plenty of sparks fly.

Avery's story was inspired by a couple of images I had found and taped to the wall above my desk. I've included them here so you can see a bit of what Avery should look like... and also see an image of Rhys.

I love fast-paced stories about danger and the supernatural. I love writing about forbidden love, and how that might work out.  So, if, like me, you adore magical words like danger, sexy, and forever... this book is dedicated to you.

Cheers for now-
Linda

WEREWOLVES, oh my!

Hello, readers, writers, bloggers. Linda Thomas-Sundstrom here with a short post about two new re-issues from my Wolf Moons series novellas that have come out from Nocturne this year. Wolf Bait and Moon Marked.
You might know by now that I love writing about hunky, sexy, alpha Weres whose intelligence shines through their big blue/green eyes, and who are extraordinarily loyal to a cause of their choice . . . which is usually to protect their species from us regular old human beings finding out about their existence. Of course, some of us are already in on this secret. And some us covet time with these guys. I'm one. Are you?
Both of these stories are set in Miami - where the sun is hot and the werewolves are hotter. Both stories deal with the kind of woman it will take to corral a sexy Were . . . and the volcanic bliss of two bodies when they meet.
So if you just are in need of a story that won't take up too much of your time . . .Stories that promise a fast-paced romp through the world of full moons and sexy beasts . .  .I'd love for you to try these. Pretty please.

Here are just a few fun facts from my HISTORY AND LORE OF WEREWOLVES lectures to whet your appetite:

1. Werewolves were first noted in prehistoric times, in cave drawings.
2. The first documented sighting of werewolves was in Ireland in 1180.
3. France seems to have been the heart of European werewolf activity in the 16th and 17th centuries.
4. Certain countries around the world still believe in the existence of Werewolves today? Yep. True. (can we say France?)
5. Most famous werewolf poem: (you might recognize this from the movies) "When the Wolfsbane Blooms."

"Even a man who is pure of heart

And says his prayers at night

Might become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms

and the moon is full and bright."

So.....here I am, digging into this species with my own claws, hoping you'll come along on this wild ride with me and enjoy a novella or two. And if you need longer, meatier fare, try one of my full Wolf tales from Nocturne, the latest of which are: Wolf Born, Wolf Hunter, Seduced by the Moon, and Half Wolf. And stay tuned for Desert Wolf this coming August.
