CHERRY ADAIR

HUSH . . . it's Cherry Adair...
Pocket
ISBN: 978-1439153826

In the sultry heat of a deadly jungle, lovers must pull off a dangerous and daring rescue.

National bestselling author Cherry Adair introduces an edgy, sexy new suspense series with this exhilarating international tale of hide and seek.

A reckless adventure in a deadly paradise.

Thrill seekers Zakary and Gideon Stark travel the globe in search of extreme adventure, but a trip to Venezuela to jump off the world’s highest falls catapults them into a perilous game of life or death – where they don’t know the rules.

A one-night stand that will change his life forever.

Kidnapped with a woman Zak knows nothing about, the brothers are held prisoner deep in the jungle. A risky, death-defying escape separates them and nearly claims Zak’s life…until his recovery reveals a baffling new sixth sense.

An unexpected diversion with lethal consequences.
Now, to find his missing brother, Zak and the mysterious Acadia Gray will have to out-smart, out-gun, and out-maneuver not just the brutal kidnappers but also a new player who joins the adrenaline game: a ruthless opponent who wants the Stark brothers dead – at any cost.

MY FRIEND . . . CHERRY ADAIR
New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair has carved a niche for herself with her sexy, sassy, fast-paced, action adventure novels which have appeared on numerous bestsellers lists, won dozens of awards and garnered praise from reviewers and fans alike. She hates first drafts, has a passion for mentoring unpublished writers, and is hard at work on two new series – CUTTER CAY and LODESTONE.

What this short introduction can't tell you or show you is Cherry's dynamic personality. It's hard for me to remember that we met in a very quiet moment (probably the last we ever shared lol). After a very long, tiring, Kiss of Death tour of the FBI building, I shared a step with another redhead to rest. It was my first conference, my first tour, my first time to be around authors I didn't really know. I was very niave and I'm embarassed to admit I had no idea who Cherry was... But she took me under her wing anyway. Every year at conference I was greeted with smooches, hugs, and a stern: ARE YOU WRITING? And when I finally sold and was able to call my long-time friend with the best news of my career...still more words of wisdom: Writers Write. Get busy on the second book. "Yes ma'am!"

THE FUN STUFF

ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
CHERRY: Ahhh. Gone With The Wind. I snuck it out of the adult library when I was 12. I rewrote the ending immediately and never looked back.

ANGI: What’s your favorite “love” word?
CHERRY: Sweetheart

ANGI: What turns you off like nothing else?
CHERRY: Negativity

ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
CHERRY: I read anything I can get my hands on, unfortunately the more I write, the less time I have to read.

ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
CHERRY: Small children laughing (and them crying does just the opposite. Lol)

ANGI: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
CHERRY: Action Adventure *grin*

ANGI: What was the first story you remember writing?
CHERRY: A story about a fairy looking for her wings. I was 4.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
CHERRY: Gone With The Wind & Con Air.

ANGI: Who’s your favorite villain?
CHERRY: Alan Rickman. (also the sexiest villain ever!)

ANGI: Is writing or story-telling easier for you?
CHERRY: They are the same thing to me.

ANGI: What’s something you’d like to tell your fans?
CHERRY: That it makes my heart sing when they contact me, and that talking with them on Facebook every day is better than a vacation for me. *grin*

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: I absolutely adore you, woman! From the first time we met on the steps of the Hoover building in DC, you have been one of the authors in my life that consistently inspired and encouraged me to write. But who encourages you? What keeps you consistently writing? Where do the new ideas come from?
CHERRY’S GOTTA ANSWER: The new ideas just bubble up 24/7- Magic. Lol . I have two things that keep me motivated and bring me ridiculous amounts of joy every single day. The first are my readers, who keep things real, are extremely amusing, and come and play with me every day on Facebook (where I spent far too much time for all those reasons *grin*). They are THE best, and every day I want to show up on their doorsteps and give them a hug. *grin* I also have a passion for new, and yet to be published authors. When someone tries so hard, when they beat their heads against walls at every turn, and then triumph because they didn’t give up, when they sell their first book, it makes me incredibly proud. It also renews my faith in this crazy, hard, and wonderful business of being an author.

There is absolutely no better job in the world than doing exactly what I do.

Thanks for inviting me. I’ll send the winner of the drawing a copy of HUSH.

This was a lot of fun. *grin*

Smooches,
Cherry

Note: Offer void where prohibited. Prizes will be mailed to North America addresses only. If an electronic Advanced Reading Copy (ARC) is available, the author may utilize that option for International participants. Odds of winning vary due to the number of entrants.

GOT A QUESTION YOU’D LIKE TO ASK YOUR FANS?

  2. Congrats on the new release, Cherry. I'm excited about your new series. Will there be any more T-FLAC books in the future?

  3. The book sounds great and I love the guy on your site who's shirt comes off when you move the pointer over him! Will the next story be about Zak's brother (Gideon)? Or someone else that we will meet in the book?

Best of luck with the release!

  4. Hi Cherry,

I know I am not eligiable for a prize or prezzie, but I do have a question. I am always curious to know how authors come up with their character names and also when inspiration hits you do you jot it down somewhere immediately or do you carry a notebook with you ?

    Congratulations on your release !

  5. Hey Cherry, Good morning to you. I wanted to ask what got you into the paranormal aspects of your writing? Also, we see alot of paranormal adventures at the moment but few ghost stories. Any plans to do one? I, for one, think you'd kick butt at it.
    Congrats on the new release!

  6. Cherry: First of all, I don't know who's more gorgeous, your characters on the blurb or YOU! Welcome to GLIAS. Love your answers, and, hey, that story about the fairy losing her wings, it may have promise today ;) You're on to something! I, too, can't tolerate negativity; it's a defeatist quality. And than you for such an inspiring post! Angi, you rock for bringing Cherry here today ;)

  7. Hello Cherry!
Congratulations on your new release! Hush looks awesome.

My question is about your two new series. Can you tell us a little about Cutter Cay and Lodestone? Are they the names of characters in the books? Thanks!

  8. Wonderful interview. I think the first CA book I read was In Too Deep. After that, I had to have them all! I remember paying, like $25 for a used tattered copy of The Mercenary off Amazon and then it came out brand-spanking new in reprint, like, a month later!! Ugh. Totally worth it though.

Congrats on HUSH! Love your work and, yes, I love me some Alan Rickman Snape too!

  9. Ooh, presents! Here's my question: Do you find Alan Rickman as sexy a hero as you do a villain? Thinking Col. Brandon here. YUM.

I met you in Orlando last year and you told me good things were going to happen for me and to keep your signed book next to my keyboard. It's there! :)

  10. Hi Cherry! Welcome to GLIAS :) It's so wonderful to have you here today.

For those of you who've ever heard Cherry speak (in person, at a conference or on a workshop tape), did you TOTALLY hear her interview in her lovely accent? Great fun!

I hear what you're saying about the more we're writing, the less time we're reading...but I will be certain to make time for HUSH! Congrats on the release.

  14. Hi, Cherry! Fun interview!
I was wondering-- if one of your books were made into a movie, which one do you wish it would be and who would be your dream cast?
    Nice chatting with you! :-)

  15. Desere – Damn it, I feel so bad about not sending stuff overseas. Especially to YOU! But I think I have an idea. When I have it worked out I’ll yell. OK?
579a9e60-70b7-11e0-b771-000f20980440 Actually, I don’t consider myself a paranormal writer at all. Although of written a few  So, no. I don’t THINK I’ll ever write a ghost story…. But I’ll never say never. Lol
Donnell – Thanks I went from fairies to kick butt heroines. Better, right
StackieDM The first series is Cutter Cay and started in January with UNDERTOW. The 1st 3 books will be about the Cutter brother’s and their sea adventures as they search for sunken wrecks filled with priceless treasure (these guys are NOT poor! Lol)
2nd series is LODESTONE starting with HUSH. Lodestone will be the name of the company Zakary Stark starts at the end of this book. It’s action adventure – with just a KISS (a breath!) of paranormal in it.
Linda – isn’t Rickman the sexiest man ever? What us it about him? Is it that snarl? Lol You know who’s heroes are (I think) Alan Rickman? Anne Stuart! Love her heroes. (Except I always know the second I close the book, that far from the happy ending she pretends it will be – the hero kills the heroine when we aren’t looking. Lol I ADORE Anne Stuart’s books SO much.
Abigail – I remember you. But just having the luck doesn’t mean you don’t write. Get your butt in gear and FINISH THE DAMN BOOK, woman (oh, sorry. Didn’t mean to yell at you in public! Lol (yeah I did. Get that book finished.)
And yes. About Rickman - see my answer to Linda.
    Heather – Thank you.

For a little prezzie (if you’d like it ) send me an e mail via my website – cherryadair.com and give me your snail mail. I’ll get it in the mail to you.

  18. Hi Cherry. You are a new to me author and I was just wondering did you find it hard writing about such exotic locations? Have you actually gone and done hands on research or is everything from online?

    iqb99@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  19. Gjillian – I can’t wait for National, be sure to come and say hi.

Danielle – I love writing about exotic locales – to me they are another character in my books, and I give the places as much time and effort as I do my people. I have been to quite a few of the places I write about. But obviously not all of them. (I barely have time to walk to my mailbox, let alone take a trip to Venezuela. ) I must admit, in real life I’m a tourist, not a traveler. I like 5 star hotels and 24/7 room service. I don’t like sweating, or bugs eating me, or European toilets. Lololol Sometimes, for me, reading about a place is better than being there.

Thanks for your interesting questions everyone. For those of you who didn’t see this - For a little prezzie (if you’d like it ) send me an e mail via my website – cherryadair.com and give me your snail mail. I’ll get it in the mail to you.

Thanks for having me, this was a lot of fun. Please invite me back.
    Cheers
    Cherry
