WHEN RISK IS THE REWARD—LET THE DANGER BEGIN

Adrenaline junkie Jared Livingston has found the perfect blend of exhilaration and danger in his new job at Last Chance Rescue. Raised to depend only on himself, Jared tried marriage, but the end of the relationship renewed his belief that he was meant to be a loner. Now a desperate plea from his ex-wife puts Jared in the unique position of using the skills she despised to rescue her missing daughter. The case brings Jared face-to-face with Mia Ryker, the only agent ever fired from LCR—for playing too far outside the box. Now Mia’s back, and as a team, they’re as compatible as fuel and fire—blowing off tension in each other’s arms, blowing open the secret life of a wealthy philanthropist and his shameful dealings. Their search for the innocent child takes them to places neither have been before—to the edge of danger and to the edge of their hearts.

LIVE FOR HONOR. DIE FOR LOVE.

Honor Stone is a young, idealistic FBI agent when her path collides with Seth Cavanaugh. For a girl who has never walked on the wild side, the dark and dangerous Seth is a temptation she can’t refuse. But then Seth walks out the door and out of her life. Five years later, Honor is an operative with the elite Last Chance Rescue organization and Seth is a desperate ex-cop searching for his missing niece—one of many young women who have mysteriously vanished from college campuses. Going undercover, Honor will attract the maniacal cult leader behind the kidnappings and find a way to work with Seth—while steering clear of the passion and need that’s just one touch away from explosion. Seth knows he had all the right reasons for the wrong he did five years ago. And from the moment he sees her—and takes her in his arms again—this former undercover man will risk everything for one more chance with Honor.

SOME DESIRES ARE FORBIDDEN.

Jamie Kendrick went on a trip to hell at the hands of Stanford Reddington, a monster protected by money and power. Asking for LCR’s help, Jamie makes plans for her revenge. And Dylan Savage, one of Last Chance Rescue’s most skilled operatives, is given an assignment he despises but can’t refuse—train the lovely Jamie, but thwart her revenge plot at all costs. With tender ruthlessness, he pries open her most intimate secrets—and the attraction they’ve both tried to deny explodes into a scorching love affair—an affair that Dylan has to end. Months after Jamie stormed away from Dylan and LCR, the two meet again—at the home of Stanford Reddington. In the grips of hurt, anger, desire, and undercover danger, Jamie and Dylan will risk more than a broken heart: they’re risking everything to stop an evil fiend from destroying more lives, including their own.

MEETING CHRISTY
Growing up in a tiny community in Alabama boasting only one stop sign and a gas station gave Christy ample opportunity to create daring adventures in her head. When she wasn't thinking of her story characters, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys kept her entertained and out of trouble. Later came the chills of Stephen King and the thrills of John Grisham, but the romance genre always held a strong place in her heart.

After leaving her career with a major insurance company, the characters in her head came alive again and Christy decided to write her own stories. And now, she and her characters couldn't be happier.

A member of Romance Writers' of America, the Southern Magic RWA chapter, the KOD chapter, and International Thriller Writers, Christy lives in Alabama with her husband, two adorable fur-kids and one very shy turtle.

THE Q&A
ANGI: How often to you get lost in a story?
CHRISTY: As often as I can. I try to read a book a week (I cringe as I write this, knowing there are people reading this who read ten times that a week.) If a character or situation can grab me in the first few pages, I’ll keep reading. However, if I can somehow immediately identify with a character and feel invested in them, that’s when I get lost in a story. Connecting with a character is incredibly important to me as a reader. I’m very aware of this as a writer and work hard to create the kind of characters readers can identify with and like.

ANGI: What’s the first book you remember reading?
CHRISTY: First book? LOL, Fun With Dick and Jane, I think.  However, the first book I remember that put me through a gamut of emotions was The Rolling Years by Agnes Sligh Turnbull. It was this wonderfully deep family saga that spanned generations. I laughed, cried and literally ached for those characters.

ANGI: What’s your favorite “love” word?
CHRISTY: Cherish

ANGI: Can you tell us about a real-life hero you’ve met?
CHRISTY: My Mom. She raised three daughters by herself, had a stress career, and went to college at night. She has always been my inspiration and hero.

ANGI: What’s your favorite fairy tale?
CHRISTY: Beauty and the Beast. I’m a sucker for a tortured hero and a strong heroine.

ANGI: What’s your favorite cartoon character?
CHRISTY: Casper the Friendly Ghost, Scooby-Doo and Johnny Quest

**Christy, you’ve hit on two of my favorite cartoons: Scooby-Doo & Johnny Quest. My husband and I DVR Johnny Quest just to listen to the theme song. LOL**

ANGI: What turns you off like nothing else?
CHRISTY: Cruelty to children, the elderly and animals.

ANGI: Is there a playlist you’d recommend for reading your latest release?
CHRISTY: soft romance classics

ANGI: Where do you read and how often?
CHRISTY: Anywhere I can, but mostly a recliner in my office or in bed.

ANGI: What sound or noise do you love?
CHRISTY: The clickity-clack of my fur-kids running on our hardwood floor. There’s such joy in that sound.

ANGI: Fairy Tale or Action Adventure?
CHRISTY: I love a combination of the two.

ANGI: What was the first story you remember writing?
CHRISTY: It was a class assignment…I think I was in the seventh grade. It was about a man who disappeared and his family thought he was dead. Turned out, he worked for a top-secret branch of the government. I think Mission Impossible might have inspired me.

ANGI: What’s your favorite movie of all time?
CHRISTY: Braveheart

ANGI: Be honest, when reading...do you put yourself in the heroine’s role?
CHRISTY: Yes! If I can identify with the heroine, you bet I’m in her role. I want to feel her emotions and fall in love with the hero right along with her.

ANGI: What’s something you’d like to tell your fans?
CHRISTY: I adore and appreciate all of you! Thank you for buying my books and recommending them to others.

ANGI’S GOTTA ASK: Hi Christy, I watched the RT Review interview with you--see it on her website. I love how you try to plot and want your characters to react…but that you let them take you down THEIR path. Can you share your biggest surprise one of your characters shared with you?
CHRISTY’S GOTTA ANSWER:  My characters endlessly surprise me. Every book I’ve written, I’m shocked at the secrets they reveal. I can’t share most of them since they would entail spoilers. However the best and biggest surprise was in RESCUE ME, the first book of the series. I was writing it as a stand-alone book, without any intention of writing a connecting book. The heroine was getting dressed for work but I had no idea where she worked or what she did for a living. Then she revealed that she worked for an organization called Last Chance Rescue. That one wonderful surprise gave birth to a nine book series.

  4. Christy, I just love your books. Wow, and you are making me pick only 1. Really? Can't I just have them all over for dinner?
Well I am going to go with Honor Stone, just because I would like to get her perspective of having to do what they do, which I can see being a more male dominated role. Plus it would be nice to gossip about all the yummy guys she works with. :)

  5. Hi Emily! Thanks for commenting. If you get the chance to read any of the LCR books, hope you enjoy!

  9. Good Morning Christy, if I could have dinner with any one it would be Noah. I would love to chat with him and learn all the in's and out's of rescuing those taken or lost.

  10. Hi Karen! Thank you! I'm thrilled you love my books. And Honor would be a fun and interesting dinner companion. I'll bet she's got some opinions you'd love to hear, most especially about those yummy operatives she works with!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hey Kay! Oh yes, Noah would make a very fine dinner companion, wouldn't he. I'll bet he knows lots of fascinating secrets. (:

    ReplyDelete
  12. You know I love all your books!! And I always forget to write this, but... don't enter me.

I'm thinking I might do a re-read of all nine once the last one comes out. I always want to do it, but you know my TBR is so huge I feel guilty not reading those waiting to be read.

I think you also know that Seth is the guy I'd like to have dinner with. :-) (but all the heroes and heroines would be fabulous fun to nosh with!)

  13. Again....I have to say Seth and Honor. They were the first LCR characters that I got to know and I hold a special place in my heart for them, ehem....Especially Seth...heehee!

I have the first six of the LCR books on my TBR pile, because after reading Sweet Revenge, and the wedding scene...I now have this NEED to know what is going on with ALL THE REST OF THE CHARACTERS!! Thanks Alot, Christy!! Using my nosy nature against me!!

Love the books Christy and can't wait for Sweet Reward....I can't wait until Dec 27th!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Healthy New Year

  14. I believe Noah would know both the good and bad secrets. Those that rescue and those that take, yes Noah would be interesting dinner companion if he would open up. He is quite closed mouthed giving only as a need to know. He would be one tough nut to crack, but oh so fun to try.

  15. Hey Kris! Thank you. I love that you love my LCR gang. A reread of the entire series sounds good to me. I might have to do that sometime soon, too. (:

LOL Yep, I guessed Seth would be your pick. I'd kind of like to know what's going on with him and what he's up to, also. Hmm. Might have to give him a call!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey Lisa! Looks like Seth is going to be one busy fellow! LOL on reading the first six because of the wedding in SWEET REVENGE. So glad you have a nosy nature! (:

Thank you! So happy you're looking forward to SWEET REWARD!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kay, yep, Noah knows all those secrets and he would be a tough nut to crack. However, I have it on the highest authority that he does have a weakness for chocolate. Maybe we could tempt him. (:

    ReplyDelete
  18. :) I know just the store to tempt him with, The Chocolate Cafe" has the best chocolate in Iowa from Belgium all kinds of truffles, white, milk and dark chocolate. Everything you can think of inside even Jack Daniels, lots of creamy wonderful cheesecakes also.

    ReplyDelete
  19. LOL Kay, I'd say you'd stand a good chance of tempting him, then.

  20. Angela!!!!! Who esle!!! I would ask her what made her get a new tat(Yahoo open chat Christy had)!

    Jackie P.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hey Jackie! LOL I do hope you get to meet Angela someday so you can ask her that question. I'd love to know, too!

  22. Christy you are going to make me choose between **SIGH** My love Ethan and **SIGH** My dream guy Dylan..... Can I have separate dinner dates with each of them?

Everyone that is just now hearing about Christy Reece and the Last Chance Rescue gang.... They are a MUST!! My absolute favorite series out there today!

  23. I haven't read any of LCR books but I'd love to start the series. I've read a lot of good reviews on the recent publications. Thanks for the giveaway!

  25. Hi Jess! Thanks for stopping by. If you get a chance to read any of the LCR books, hope you enjoy!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Crystal is right. Christy will pull you in and get you hooked on the stories. But then it is even worse with her characters. You get so wrapped up in them that you can't wait for their stories. Hence, my fav Angela. Noah's tattooed secretary! Love the spunk!

  27. Hi Christy! This must be a trick question because although I'm not familiar with all your characters I sort of end up falling for all the characters in the books I read. Let's say I read a book and find myself in like with the secondary characters that is a very good thing. Jared sounds like someone I can root on. I can't help but feel for the loner in need of love :)

    Cambonified(at)yahoo(dot)com

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thank you, Jackie! LOL Angela would be so pleased that you want her story so badly. Between your requests and hers, we might have to make that happen someday. (:

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi Na! I have a tendency to fall for the characters in books, too. However, I do have favorites-ones that made me smile or sent shivers through me more than others.

Oh yes, Jared is definitely a loner in need of love. Hope you enjoy his story!

  30. Well, Christy... I haven't ignored you today. Blogger's choosing me to pick on and not accepting my posts. Ack. Hopefully the fourth try will work.

WELCOME to GLIAS. It's great to have you and all the readers chatting today. So glad several of our regulars have discovered your books.

Please don't make me choose any one character. I'd rather have dinner with the entire team (all of them) and soak it all up. Can't wait to read this one!

  31. I think Seth Cavanaugh sounds dangerous in a wonderful way. I would love to have dinner with him. I wouldn't be bored on that date!

Thanks so much for the interview and for letting me hang out over here today! I've enjoyed it!

LOL Okay, you don't have to choose one character. And actually, a group dinner with the entire LCR cast sounds like a fun night!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi Stacie! Oh yes, Seth Cavanaugh is dangerous, heroic and altogether wonderful. I think you'd definitely enjoy your evening with him. (:

  37. I've only read the first 2 books so far and am looking forward to reading the rest. Will be starting the 3rd one really soon. I think the dinner table would be so much fun with Eden and Samara, 2 really strong and caring woman.
