PROTECTING THEIR CHILD

The Davis Mountains became a character in Protecting Their Child. The landscape presented as many obstacles to Kate & Cord as the men chasing them. I'm always inspired by visiting the story location and hope to write more books based in West Texas.

I get introduced to my daughter's friends and one of the first things she tells them now is to be careful about what they say...they may just end up in a book. And ironically, from all the people I know and have worked with that knew I was a writer, her friends are the only ones that have asked to have characters named after them.

I did. Can't wait to see if their stories sell and I return next year to the Davis Mountains and Valentine, Texas.

A BIG THANK YOU TO MY HUSBAND for the new Book Trailer.

  1. Some years ago I wrote a story set in the old west. All the characters were country music stars. Tim McGraw was the sheriff, Faith Hill was his girlfriend, Toby Keith was a bounty hunter, Dwight Yoakam was the town crazy. lol
It was really funny and still makes me laugh.

    1. That's good, BN. 'Cause we need readers. >>>grin<<< without readers, we wouldn't have a market.

  3. I've thought about it when I wished current events were different.

  4. If I did write it would have to be about my family. A three ring circus if ever there was one.

My Mother, 87 years young, has joined the Writer's Group in her retirement village. She loves it. Each week they are given an assignment. Her next topic is 'boundaries'. She can make of it what she wills.

  6. Here's hoping we get to read more about the Intrigue in West Texas next year. I really loved reading Protecting Their Child. The Davis Mountains make a great background.

Yes, I have thought about writing. In fact, I have started a chapter book about a young German girl living in Russia and how her family eventually moved to America in the late 1800's. Just started writing a romance suspense also.

    1. Thanks, Marsha! I actually made the top 100 Romance sales today. (barely, but I did!) And I'm the #4 slot on Intrigue. Right behind Carla Cassidy, BJ Daniels & Mallory Kane. WOW and honored.
