Welome GLIAS friends. I’m excited today to tell you about my new romantic suspense holiday-themed Box Set, “A Season of Suspense: A Chandler County Christmas.” This set contains six brand new, heart-racing romantic suspense stories by six award winning authors—who just happen to be me and five of my friends and fellow authors!

I’m especially thrilled to introduce you to author Stephany Tullis, one of the masterminds behind
“Season of Suspense” and, in fact, one of the architects of the entire Chandler County world where the stories of SOS are set.

Stephany is a USA Today and Amazon Best Selling cinematic writer of edgy inspirational fiction. Her books cross several genres including Women's Fiction, Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense, and Satire. She currently lives in Metro Atlanta.

You can check out her #1 Best selling book “Blue Lady’s Mission Under Fire”

Stephany, along with former GLIAS crew member PJ Fiala, created the world of Chandler County several years ago, and have since welcomed more than a dozen authors who’ve written Chandler County romantic suspense novels.

The fictional Chandler County is located between Louisville and Lexington KY, an area largely affected by the Kentucky Derby and the goings on surrounding that iconic race. It’s two main towns, Chandlerville and Bourbonville are rich in culture, diversity, horse ranches, bourbon distilleries, politics, their respective businesses and business owners. Guests float in and out of town as the Derby approaches and also in November, when the Chandler County Birthday Bash rolls around.

The stories in “A Season of Suspense” are all short novellas set in the Christmas holiday season. The box set will release on November 4, 2019, but it’s available for PRE-ORDER now— and there are a number of awesome things that happen when you pre-order from any online retailer. Read on for more info.
Here’s a little about the six amazing authors and stories you’ll find in “A Season of Suspense.”

Lizbeth Selvig “Missing One Angel”Finding Angel was their second priority. Staying alive to do it was their first.

Cherime MacFarlane: “Missing Family”One minute he was the heir. Now he doesn’t have a family.

Dionne Grace: “Missing You for Christmas”Tyler was intrigued by his new neighbor, but would the dilemma that materialized be his undoing?

Tearra Rhodes: “Missing Wishes”Could one missing wish hold the key to her heart even while another holds the key to a tragic mystery?

Missing Christmas Joy
By Stephany Tullis
In this story of suspense, romance, family ties, and sinuous passions, USA Today Bestselling author Stephany Tullis weaves a page turning holiday adventure.

When Ms. Isabel Johnson decides to celebrate the first year of her thriving B & B business with the first annual Holly Jolly Holiday Couples Retreat, she has no idea that her life will never be the same. An idyllic spot with over 250 acres and home to now four generations of Johnsons, Ms. Isabel runs the Home on the Ranch B & B with the help of Manager, Joyeaux Noelle, Head Chef, Louis St. Cloud and new hire handyman, Frankie Sanders.

In the spirit of Christmas and despite dire storm warnings that predict the worst weather the county has faced in 10 years, the influx of jubilant couples descend on the festively decorated grounds in search of love, peace, joy, fulfillment and in some cases renewed relationships. When the highly recommended retreat leaders find themselves stranded at the Louisville International Airport due to strong winds, blowing snow and building ice, Ms. Isabel twists her grandson’s (Dr. Jared Johnson) arm and convinces him and his wife Marissa Johnson to co-lead the holiday Retreat.

An unexpected visitor disrupts the intended romantic and Christmas spirited festivities not only exposing family secrets but threatening the lives of Retreat guests. To further complicate matters, when Mr. James, the postman, delivers a special priority Christmas card to Ms. Johnson, her inner voice warns that this will be a Christmas like none other.

MISSING ONE ANGEL
By Lizbeth Selvig
As an abused child and a serial runaway, Mallory Carrick experienced early on the dark side of the foster care system and the tough world of life on the streets. But all that is behind her since finding a job and a family at Crosby Racing. Based at the racing stable’s home, Sanctuary Pond Farm, Mallory’s bright and cheerful personality, as well as her empathy for animals and people alike, makes her everyone’s favorite confidante and friend. And nobody has fallen for her harder than Sawyer Hawkins.

Sawyer, too, has a home at Sanctuary Pond where owner Winn Crosby has built a super-successful stable with the help of young adults needing second chances. Like Mallory, Sawyer had a rough start in life. Working with horses changed him, but finding Mallory Carrick saved him. He’s more than ready to build a future with her, and she wants the same.

Enter precocious, difficult, and homeless thirteen-year-old Angelika Coltrane. “Angel” certainly does not live up to her nickname, and when she stows away in a horse trailer bound for Sanctuary Pond, she starts a chain of events that threatens everyone in her path. Mallory immediately empathizes with the girl and is the only one to bond with her, inviting her to stay at the farm with her. Sawyer knows they aren’t ready to take on a runaway. But it’s holiday season and even he doesn’t have the heart to send a girl named Angel away at Christmastime.

But Angel isn’t simply a difficult teen. She has a secret she’ll only hint at. The crime she’s witnessed makes her a danger to herself and anyone around her. Just when the holidays start to mean something special, when her new surroundings offer people who actually understand her, and she gets the chance she’s always dreamed of to work around horses, Angel’s past catches her and she’s kidnapped.

Mallory and Sawyer must find out why she’s gone and where she’s been taken, but the danger tests their young love in a way that might destroy it. They have to decide if they possess the strength—or even the desire—to search for Angel before it’s too late for all of them.

BLAME IT ON FATE

Undeniable Fate by Mia London

“Lily.” His finger lifted her chin, his thumb brushed her lower lip. “I’m not lying. I mean every word. Your body is perfect.”

My story is about a project manager, Lily Bennett, who makes a business trip to Rome and meets Brandon Morgan along the way. There’s a bizarre twist of fate when the hotel double-booked the room and Brandon enters her room by mistake. In the four days
they have together, he slowly breaks down her insecurities and she dares to hope for more.

As CEO, Brandon is responsible for his company’s latest acquisition, one that will prove he can handle anything thrown his way. He just hadn’t planned on the encounter of a lifetime with Lily. But as a classic Type-A driver, a relationship is absolutely out of the question.
I enjoyed seeing how these characters transformed before me. And I knew my readers would fall in love with them. In fact, I was nearly 80% done when I realized the readers would want more of Lily and Brandon. So, this is in fact book 1 of a 2-book series. But don’t worry. There are no cliffhangers.

Temptations of Christmas Future by Lexi Post

She thought she could stop him. Save him.
He didn’t need saving. He needed—her.

Temptations of Christmas Future is the 3rd in the Christmas Carol Series, but definitely not the last. It’s the story of two Spirits of Christmas Future who are helping a young widow move on with her life. Usually, spirits aren’t paired, but this is a tough case. So tough that I’ll have to write the fourth book for next Christmas, but don’t worry, this IS NOT a cliff hanger.

Malcolm is from Scotland in the future and he has a very pessimistic attitude about, well, everything, including women, but he has good reasons. Joy is from present day America, the Southwest to be exact. She is the ultimate optimist despite being a hospice nurse while still among the living. Of course, opposites attract and she is so attracted to Malcolm that she even dreams about him, and who wouldn’t? The man is walking sensuality. I may have had a couple dreams about him myself. Just sayin.

Sadly, the pressure of this particular assignment will break them both down, which will have them turning to each other for comfort and some hot bedroom, and non-bedroom, experiences. Still, comfort is one thing and success another. Unfortunately, the two may not be compatible, in which case, someone will have to pay the price for failure. Who? I can’t say as that would spoil it, but I promise there will be a happily ever after.

Highland Oath by C.A. Szarek

He’d never had a lover like his little healer. She was so free, so receptive and reactive to his touch, his kiss. Would that she felt the same way about his heart.

Highland Oath is Angus' story, for those of you are familiar with my Highlanders. If you're not, that's okay! His book is the first of a "spin-off" series and it was a long time in coming. It's special to me because Angus is 9 years old in the first book of my first trilogy (Highland Secrets), and then he's a 92 year old grandfather in Highlander's Portrait. I revisited him with his parents' story in The Princess and The Laird, (series prequel) so he's been with me for a long time. His story was AWESOME to write, so it was great to see him meet his very own HEA, Lila.

Claiming Emerson by Heather Miles

“By day, I charmed wealthy benefactors into gifting the art world with their money and time. By night, I was the gift and my time didn’t come cheap.”

Claiming Emerson is book one in a new series by Heather Miles. It’s the beginning of Emerson Anee’s story. How she became the youngest curator to ever grace the floors of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, at the same time as being one of the most exclusive escorts in New York City. By day, she charms wealthy benefactors into gifting the art world with their money and time, but by night, she was the gift and her time didn’t come cheap. She lived a double life, conservative in one world, daring and risky in the other. It was a shell game. The art of illusion wasn’t just something she’d become proficient at, she lived it.  This is the story of what molded her into the woman she became and the men who tried to claim her as theirs.

A Twist on Fate by Jillian Stone

They say that you don’t meet people by accident, that you cross paths with strangers for a reason. But then memes about fate are for morons, right? Thing is—after what just happened—I’m not so sure anymore…

Jenn Fenstermaker should be grateful––no––thrilled to be an assistant producer for Storyville Pictures. But the script is in rewrite, and the last thing her flagging film industry career needs is another box office mega bomb. Chronically late to work, she cuts off a BMW on the freeway.

Gabriel Tobias Grant feels terrible about the damage to Jenn’s car. He’s also attracted to the bold, beautiful young woman. Gabe is a San Francisco chef/entrepreneur and as a way of making amends, he offers to cook dinner. Both Jenn and Gabe are in for an amazing night of orgasmic appetizers, Ć  la his sensuous grilled scallops, but neither one is prepared to deal with what happens next—an unwelcome intrusion by a stranger.

On A Whim by J.M. Walker

“You, my sweet girl, are a brat and I’m going
to have fun showing you exactly what I do to them.”

On A Whim is about Kiki Smith and Bo Layden. Both of them work in the book world. Kiki’s a graphic designer and falls into her work after getting stood up at the altar. Bo on the other hand, gets screwed out of thousands of dollars by people he thought he could trust and is on a hunt for a new designer. When he contacts Kiki under his author name, B. Vesper, she doesn’t realize that they are actually the same guy. Cue dramatic music. This story was fun because Kiki was something fresh and Bo was my typical dark Alpha male…with a J.M. Walker twist.

I'm so excited to be a part of the BLAME IT ON FATE anthology and to share each of the author's brief comments about their stories with our readers—on release day!

This box set is all about the role fate often plays in the lives of lovers. Think about it: Chance meetings…handsome strangers…secret lives…exotic travel…holiday spirits…heroes in kilts…this anthology has got it all. Many of these stories are full length novels so be prepared for hours of reading pleasure.

Commenters: Fate plays a role in almost every romance—what's your favorite chance encounter? Perhaps you have a real life romantic run-in you'd like to share. (Oh yes, please—they're my favorites!) Post your comments below for a chance to win an ebook copy of the BLAME IT ON FATE anthology. Good luck romance readers!  xo—Jillian Stone

Get Lost in Sarah Richmond's Brides of Serendipity

RAGTOWN CROSSING
Dedicated to those pioneers whose determination
brought them across the Forty Mile desert to this spot
and sweet water.

I'm a big fan of American history, and a trip to Fallon, Nevada inspired these books. Along side the highway is a sign designating the town of Ragtown a historical site—now a ghost town. Once a thriving trading post where the wagon trains stopped to rest after an arduous journey across the Forty Mile desert, Ragtown found its place in the history books.

I hope you enjoy these three novellas about three ladies who found love and purpose in a place called Ragtown.

Courtin' Dory

Brides of Serendipity Book 1

Excerpt from ‘Courtin’ Dory’

Harley leaned closer. He did have amazing eyes that showed kindness. "Would it be all right if I kissed you?"
Dory's heart beat wildly and she drew in a quick breath. She'd no experience with the rightness or wrongness of letting him kiss her. She only knew she wanted him to.
She closed her eyes and tilted her head upwards. His rough hand rested on her cheek bones.
"You smell so good," he said. "Sweet, like spring water."
She opened one eye. "Are you gonna kiss me or talk?"

Barrett's Law

Brides of Serendipity Book 2

Excerpt from ‘Barrett’s Law’

Before he could take off, Lena leaned over and grabbed the bridle of his horse. The mare stepped back but Lena held on firmly. All her life she played the hand she was dealt. But not this time.
Henry Barrett was going to listen.
"I'm not a wrangler and I'm not accustomed to sitting a horse but I'm capable, you said so yourself. I'm a hard worker and did a fair job patching you up. Seems to me out here where the land needs taming and the law's neglectful, a woman like myself would be useful."
She let his horse go having said her piece. What she'd told him struck at the core of the matter. He could depend on her.
"Lena," he said, using her given name for the first time. "You're the peskiest woman I ever did come across."
She knew he spoke honestly and from the heart. Her eyes stung with tears. It was the nicest compliment she'd ever received.
He smiled, by Lord in Heaven, he did. She was smiling too.
"I suppose if I don't let you come along," he said, "you'll just follow me anyway."
"I'm glad we're beginning to understand each other."
His mouth twitched. His blue eyes held her like an embrace. Lena liked what she saw.

Rosy

Brides of Serendipity Book 3

Excerpt from ‘Rosy’

"Let me introduce you," Rosamund said. "Matthew Kincaid, this is Aunt Hester Sherry."
Hester examined Matthew Kincaid as an interloper but she remembered her manners.
"Sheriff," Hester said, extending her gloved hand.
"Ma'am," he said with rakish charm.
Auntie's gaze cut him with razor sharp precision. He hadn't won her over.
Sheriff Kincaid looked about as out of place on a veranda as a man could be. He took Aunt Hester's hand and shook it vigorously.
Hester retrieved her hand from his grasp.
"Aunt Hester has traveled all the way from Richmond," Rosamund explained. His gaze shifted to Rosamund. She saw a hint of a smile.
"I hope your journey was agreeable," he said with positively touching good manners.
Aunt Hester recoiled as if she'd come in contact with a hot iron. "You're a Yankee," she said, responding to his flat Northern accent.
"Yes, ma'am."
Hester looked at him in horror.
"Let's go along to my house," Rosamund said, taking Hester's arm before there was a confrontation. Hester could be a formidable in an altercation. "Jason will bring your cases."
"Rosamund, how can this be? A Yankee sheriff taking Jake’s place?"
"I will explain when we are at the house."
Their sheriff put two fingers to the brim of his hat. Hester ignored him.
"Luckily the house isn't far," Rosamund said, steering her aunt in that direction.
"Yes, I could use a proper cup of tea." The fan came out.
"Make no mistake, that's a handsome woman just arrived on my stage."
Aunt Hester stiffened.
Rosamund shot a look of disapproval over her shoulder. The stagecoach driver rubbed his grizzled face as he watched them walk away. Matthew looked like he was about to burst out laughing. Instead, he winked at Rosamund.
"And Rosy is pretty too," Matthew said.

CLOVER: How often to you get lost in a story?
C.A. Szarek: All the time! I love to read as much as I love writing! So, I read often and diversely. Sometimes it takes me a while to finish a book since I write almost every day, but I’m always reading something.

CLOVER: What’s the first thing you do when you finish writing a book?
C.A. Szarek: Cry. I hate that I’m admitting that, but it’s the truth. LOL. Then I jump for joy. If I was a drinker, I’d get drunk, but I usually physically jump for joy, and high-five whoever’s close. Then watch way too much TV before I dive into the next book.

CLOVER:  If you were given a chance to travel to the past where would you go and specifically why?

C.A. Szarek: Easy. I would go to Scotland. Probably in the 17th century, like my heroines in this series. That’s a fascinating time in Scotland’s history and the Clan system has always intrigued me. I would love to see it live, even though life for a woman in that time wasn’t always a piece of cake.

CLOVER: I love that we are in a boxed set together with books focusing on time travel. Tell us a little about the book you have in this set.
C.A. Szarek: My book is about city girl from 2014 who’s fascinated by anything Scotland. Claire is from Texas and goes to the Highlands on vacation. She gets sucked into 1672 by accident when running on the beach, and meets Duncan. He changes her mind about the drive for finding modern times again. Duncan’s twin brother was kidnapped by the Fae, so Claire has to help him find him, and they fall in love along the way.

This was a super fun write for me, and this book is the first of a trilogy, there are two more stories, both of which I adore.
